I’m sure you noticed our Elixir Soap. It is an exceptional product, the idea of it sparked by an unusually high number of use cases of Shilajit in cosmetics. Many times, it has been noted that it can have a very positive impact on the health and general look of the skin, so creating a perfect bar of soap was a must. And what do we need besides high-quality Shilajit to make the perfect bar of soap? Organic, natural, and skin-friendly ingredients that would elevate this whole product to a new level. And in this blog, we’re going to learn about them because we need to understand what we use if we want to use it properly.
NATURAL SKIN-FRIENDLY INGREDIENTS
Because we don’t just want regular oil-made soap with Shilajit, we decided to go in a different direction here. We searched and tried to find all the good ingredients to make this product stand out from the rest. Each component was carefully chosen and mixed into perfection.
Firstly, we picked castor oil. Pressed from castor seeds found in the tropical Ricinus communis plant, castor oil is thicker and goopier than argan or coconut oil. But as its texture suggests, it’s also far richer in vitamin E and fatty acids than most plant oils, which may make it an effective replenisher for the skin. The medicinal properties of castor oil are thought to have been harnessed as far back as ancient Egyptian times when the oil was regarded by many as an immunity-boosting elixir. Castor oil penetrates the skin and helps to stimulate the body’s production of collagen and elastin, which can soften and hydrate the skin. As if boosting collagen and speeding up hair growth weren’t enough, castor oil is also traditionally known for its healing against eczema, dermatitis, rosacea, psoriasis, and other skin conditions. When we went through all the possible beneficial effects castor oil can have for our skin, it became a clear winner in our minds.
The second ingredient that caught our attention was pumpkin seed oil. Want to know why? Because good quality, organic pumpkin seed oil is rich in vitamins A and C, Zinc, Magnesium, Potassium, antioxidants, and unsaturated fatty acids. These benefits make pumpkin seed oil an excellent moisturizer. Vitamin A keeps skin firm and healthy, Zinc takes care of the formation of new skin cells and collagen production, while Magnesium is an essential mineral for skin health. Pumpkin seed oil nourishes the skin because it’s also high in omegas 3, 6, and 9. All three of these essential fatty acids are vital for healthy skin. The omega fatty acids in the Pumpkin Seed Oil work together to form the critical building blocks for our skin, which means a smooth and healthy complexion. The high vitamin, mineral, and omega content makes Pumpkin Seed Oil an excellent lifting oil for dry, mature, and damaged skin. The oil helps to support the health and structure of the skin, which reduces the appearance of wrinkles and signs of aging.
Lastly, we will stop at peppermint oil. Peppermint essential oil can be extracted from the leaves of the peppermint plant and is used for a variety of different purposes. Peppermint may be a sweet holiday treat, but in its essisintial oil form, it’s also a multitasking machine with a plethora of beauty, health, and household benefits. Peppermint oil naturally cleanses the skin and has antiseptic and antibacterial properties. It has a cooling effect that soothes irritation and inflammation. In addition, Peppermint Extract gives skin an instant boost upon contact. It boasts a host of nutrients like Vitamins A and C, two powerful antioxidants that fight free radicals and inflammation, B vitamins and folate, which help brighten the complexion. As redness and minor irritations are reduced, skin is left toned and refreshed. And you want to know the best part? It smells lovely and natural. We think it is the perfect addition to our soap.
To help with the scent, we also added just a little Limonene essential oil that helps to improve the smell and taste of cosmetic and skincare formulations. It may also have added benefits, acting as an antioxidant and soothing ingredient.
